Why I Voted No on the Unfunded Extension of the Payroll Tax and SGR
Friday, February 17, 2012
Social
Security and Medicare are greatly threatened by the deficit. The
unfunded extension of the Payroll Tax and SGR increase the deficit.
Louisiana will disproportionally be impacted by the provision that
offsets the spending increase. The issue of Medicare payments to doctors
that care for senior citizens is not addressed completely. If we do not
fully address this issue, our deficit will continue to increase and
senior citizens will have a harder time seeing their doctors.
