Senator Cassidy Joins President Trump at White House for Signing of HALT Fentanyl Act in Latest Example of the Pair’s Results-Driven Partnership

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), joined President Donald J. Trump at the White House for the signing of the HALT Fentanyl Act, yet another major accomplishment Senator Cassidy and President Trump have delivered together for Louisiana and the nation.

This latest victory builds on months of partnership between Senator Cassidy and President Trump, including passing the One Big Beautiful Bill, voting for this week’s $9 billion rescission package to cut wasteful government spending, confirming President Trump’s cabinet and judicial nominees, boosting American energy production and manufacturing, and advancing policies to strengthen border security.

“I’m proud to work with President Trump to get results that matter for Louisiana families,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Together, we’re cracking down on fentanyl, cutting reckless spending, creating better jobs, making America healthy again, and securing our border. That’s the kind of conservative leadership people expect, and it’s what we’re delivering.”

Senator Cassidy’s conservative victories have fueled growing momentum for his 2026 re- election campaign. Last quarter, he raised over $2.1 million, his largest fundraising quarter this cycle, and enters Q3 with $9 million cash on hand, the largest war chest ever held by a Louisiana Senate candidate at this point.
