BATON ROUGE, LA – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D., is proud to announce the endorsement of West Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell for the upcoming 2026 Senate election. A proven conservative leader in Ouachita Parish, Mayor Mitchell is throwing her support behind Senator Cassidy for his tireless work delivering for West Monroe and all of Louisiana.
Mayor Mitchell’s endorsement statement:“Senator Bill Cassidy has been a fierce advocate for West Monroe—bringing home over $12 million in infrastructure funding through Congressionally Directed Spending, the Delta Regional Authority, and Economic Development Authority grants. That’s our tax dollars coming back where they belong.
When Glenwood Regional Medical Center faced a crisis under Steward Hospitals, Senator Cassidy didn’t hesitate. He stepped in, fought for our hospital, and worked to hold Steward accountable.
He was always just a phone call away—and more often than not, he was the one calling me, asking how he could help. That’s what real leadership looks like. Senator Cassidy truly cares about West Monroe, Glenwood Regional Medical Center, and all of Northeast Louisiana. He leads with common sense, conservative values, and a clear focus on delivering real results.”
Senator Cassidy issued the following statement in response to Mayor Mitchell’s endorsement:
“I’m honored to earn Mayor Staci Mitchell’s support. She is a leader who governs with conservative principles—fiscal responsibility, strong local communities, and putting families first. We’ve worked together for West Monroe. I’m excited to build on that success.”
