Baton Rouge, LA - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) joined the Ruthless Podcast yesterday, where he laid out the stakes of the Senate race, called out Washington dysfunction, and highlighted his record of delivering conservative wins for Louisiana families.
Senator Cassidy didn’t hold back; he blasted Senate Democrats for blocking funding for the Department of Homeland Security, pointing to the consequences Louisiana travelers are already feeling – long TSA lines, missed flights, and workers missing paychecks. He also doubled down on passing the SAVE America Act to protect election integrity and made clear that families across Louisiana are struggling with rising costs and need leaders focused on results, not political games.
Senator Cassidy highlighted his record of delivering for the state, including the HALT Fentanyl Act signed into law, efforts to lower prescription drug costs, and billions secured for infrastructure and high-speed internet to create better-paying jobs.
“I can look at the things that I've done. The HALT Fentanyl act. When the President signed it into law, he said it was one of the most important bills he had signed that year, giving law enforcement more tools to fight cartels shipping and fentanyl.
My Support Act. The President signs my support act, giving more resources to help people who are addicted with serious mental illness come off their addiction and to treat their serious mental illness.
My IRS math act to keep somebody who makes like a minor, innocent mistake on their tax return from getting turned Every Which Way But Loose by the IRS. You know, you don't mess with the IRS. Let's make it so the IRS doesn't have as many excuses to mess with you.
Yeah? So, I could keep going down the list, yeah, but these are important things that are important to our country, and that's just who I am. So I got to run on who I am.”
The contrast in this race is clear. While Senator Cassidy is delivering for Louisiana, Liberal Julia Letlow is facing questions about her stock trades and putting her own financial interests first. Senator Cassidy is leading the fight to ban insider trading in Congress. Nancy Pelosi of the Pelican State has been cashing in.
“My wife and I have not traded individual stocks for quite some time. By the way, my opponent, she's done quite well… just to point out trading stocks that have had business before the subcommittees upon on, which she sits, like defense stocks, which had a subcommittee hearing two weeks prior to Iran hostilities breaking out, and she did pretty well on those so.”
With the May 16 primary approaching, Senator Cassidy made it simple: Louisiana voters can choose a proven conservative who delivers results or a candidate who won’t even show up to a tv debate.
