Baton Rouge, LA— U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) published an op-ed in the Daily Caller highlighting how Democrats shut down the government to protect funding for transgender surgeries on minors, even as violence tied to radical gender ideology rises across the country.

“Unfortunately, Democrats are putting ideology over safety. By holding our government hostage in the Schumer Shutdown, they are demanding that your tax dollars fund transgender surgeries for minors, putting the trans agenda above both our children’s well-being and our nation’s stability,” wrote Dr. Cassidy.
