Baton Rouge, LA — We now know that Conservative Bill Cassidy out-raised Liberal Julia Letlow during this quarter and campaign-to-date.
Cassidy raised $2.5 million across all campaign entities in Q1 ($20 million campaign-to-date), while Letlow raised $1.9. This number does not include outside groups’ spending (where pro-Cassidy groups out raised pro-Letlow groups by millions of dollars).
Here’s what this giant gap means:
The fundraising might of the Cassidy campaign is translating to Cassidy massively out-spending Letlow on TV advertising.
Letlow’s campaign has been off broadcast TV for more than a month and just went completely dark for two days. The Liberal Letlow campaign is now back on TV with a miniscule cable buy that would be more appropriate in a race for dog catcher than for U.S. Senate.
This is Letlow’s first fundraising quarter since joining the race, which means that it has been the easiest time for her to raise money… and she still trailed Cassidy.
Liberal Letlow is so low on money that she’s not spending on TV… so why won’t she debate Conservative Cassidy?
