Julia Letlow refuses to debate Senator Bill Cassidy on television
Baton Rouge, LA — Sixty days ago, Senator Bill Cassidy challenged Julia Letlow to three televised debates across Louisiana to give voters an opportunity to see the candidates for United States Senate discuss their positions and policies in un-biased televised debates.
For months, Julia Letlow strung debate organizers along until they canceled their debate plans while she rigged a radio debate with a host known to be hostile to Senator Cassidy.
From the Advocate in April:
Sen. Bill Cassidy, fighting for his political life against two formidable Republican opponents, rejected a debate invitation issued last week by conservative radio talk show host Moon Griffon, who has nicknamed the senator “Psycho Bill.”
The Bill Cassidy for Senate campaign issued the following statement on today’s not a debate debate.
“Liberal Julia Letlow has dodged real debates for months because she can’t defend her record of advocating for DEI and calling herself a progressive leader. Just like Joe Biden, “Progressive Leader” Letlow won’t get on a real debate stage with an impartial moderator. In contrast, Conservative Bill Cassidy has a conservative record of delivering for Louisianans and he’s ready to do real debates anytime.”
