Baton Rouge, LA - Today, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) challenged Liberal Julia Letlow to participate in three televised debates ahead of Louisiana's May 16 Republican primary.

"Louisiana voters deserve a healthy debate on the issues that matter most in their lives," said Dr. Cassidy. "I have a proven record of delivering billions of dollars for our state and putting Louisiana families first. My experience and seniority matters when it comes to getting results, something Congresswoman Letlow simply doesn't have. But let's have that conversation with Louisiana voters."

Cassidy emphasized that with the primary election approaching, voters should have a clear opportunity to compare candidates and hear directly from them on the issues that matter most to the state, including the economy and border security.

"As Louisiana's senior U.S. Senator, Bill Cassidy has delivered proven conservative results," said Campaign Manager Katie Larkin. "Meanwhile, Liberal Letlow has used Congress to act like Nancy Pelosi 2.0. If she wants this job, she should be more than willing to stand on a debate stage and explain to voters why she believes she deserves it."

The Cassidy campaign is working with Louisiana media outlets to coordinate the debates and ensure voters across the state have the opportunity to watch. Senator Cassidy will debate as long as Congresswoman Letlow is on stage.

Three televised debates include:

  • KTBS - Shreveport

  • LA Public Broadcasting/Better Louisiana - Baton Rouge

  • Nexstar - Statewide
