Team Cassidy Launches GOTV Social Media Campaign

Baton Rouge, LA — Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) is launching a daily social media video series highlighting voices from across Louisiana, including voters, small business owners, and local elected leaders, all encouraging participation in the May 16 election.
Each day, Team Cassidy will release a new video featuring a Louisianan sharing why they are voting for Senator Bill Cassidy and urging others to make a plan to vote in the Republican primary.
Walter Thomassie, the owner of Thoma-Sea Marine Constructors, from Raceland, Louisiana is voting for Senator Bill Cassidy on May 16. He believes Cassidy is the candidate with integrity and a strong commitment to our state and nation.
The social media video series will continue rolling out in the lead-up to Election Day, highlighting voices from across the state and encouraging all eligible voters in the Republican closed primary to participate in the U.S. Senate race.
What Voters Need to Know
Under Louisiana’s new closed primary system for federal races:
Republicans vote in the Republican primary.
Democrats vote in the Democrat primary.
Voters registered as No Party will choose which party’s ballot they want when they vote.
NOTE FOR NO PARTY: The ballot selection carries forward if the race advances to a runoff.

May 2–9: Early voting (excluding Sunday, May 3)
Polls are open between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
May 12: Deadline to Request a Mail Ballot from Registrar
May 15: Deadline for Registrar to Received Voted Mail Ballot
May 16: Election Day
Polls are open between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
