Washington, DC — U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) made two trips to the White House this week — celebrating Louisiana’s champions one day, then meeting with President Donald J. Trump the next.
On Monday, Senator Cassidy joined President Trump to honor two national championship baseball teams — LSU and LSUS — recognizing their impressive season and Louisiana pride.

Yesterday, Dr. Cassidy returned to the White House for lunch with President Trump and Republican Senate colleagues in the Rose Garden. After lunch, a couple of senators and President Trump went into the Oval Office to talk about the ongoing Schumer Shutdown and the need to reopen government for America’s working families.
Before leaving, President Trump signed Cassidy’s “Gulf of America” hat — a nod to their great relationship and shared commitment to putting America First.
