Baton Rouge, LA - Today, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), officially qualified for the 2026 U.S. Senate race. As Louisiana's senior senator, Cassidy enters the race with a proven record of delivering conservative results for Louisiana and the nation.

"Families are feeling the pressure of inflation. Communities want more security and more opportunity. Meeting those challenges require leadership they can count on," said Dr. Cassidy. "It takes experience, persistence and results. That's why I'm running for re-election - to keep working alongside you and our fellow Americans, not just to confront the challenges we face, but to build something stronger and make our state and our nation tougher and more secure."

The 2026 Senate race will be decided by record, results, and leadership. Senator Cassidy enters the race with strong statewide support, unmatched experience and a clear focus on continuing to work and win for Louisiana.

BACKGROUND:

Senator Cassidy recently launched his first televised advertisement, ‘Tiger Stadium,’ of his 2026 reelection campaign. The initial $500k ad buy across broadcast, streaming, and cable, marked the first significant statewide advertising campaign in the Louisiana U.S. Senate race.

Senator Cassidy raised a combined $1.4 million in Q1 between the campaign and a pro-Cassidy Super PAC at a Washington Mardi Gras fundraiser. Followed by a $650,000 Baton Rouge fundraiser with Senate Majority Leader John Thune.

Senator Cassidy closed Q4 with $11 million cash on hand. Combined campaign and allied resources total approximately $26 million available for deployment on paid media, grassroots expansion, and voter outreach across all 64 Louisiana parishes - the single largest investment ever supporting a Louisiana party primary candidate
