Baton Rouge, LA - With less than four months until the May primary, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) is continuing to surge, raising $1.4 million between the campaign and a pro-Cassidy Super PAC at a Washington Mardi Gras fundraiser and continuing his commanding position as frontrunner in the Louisiana Senate race.
This week's fundraiser is part of a strong January for Senator Cassidy after he raised over $650,00 at a Baton Rouge fundraiser with Leader John Thune. The early Q1 fundraising momentum underscore the depth of support behind Senator Cassidy's record of delivering conservative results for Louisiana and positions the campaign to define the race early.
Senator Cassidy closed Q4 with more than $11 million cash on hand, giving him and his allies a combined $26 million read to deploy for paid media, grassroots expansion, and voter outreach across all 64 parishes.
Background:
Last week, Senator Cassidy launched the first television advertisement of his 2026 campaign, 'Tiger Stadium,' backed by a half a million statewide buy airing across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
State of the Race Memo from Campaign Manager Katie Larkin: Senator Cassidy is the clear frontrunner, first on air with a $26 million financial advantage and holding a double-digit lead in public polling, while Julia Letlow's campaign launched has flopped and many Republicans are questioning her record.
Public reports indicate that pro-Cassidy forces will be able to deploy a combined $26 million in the coming months. The single largest spend supporting a Louisiana party primary candidate EVER. Read more from Campaign Manger, Katie Larkin here.
